Tones & Colours by Amon Saba Saakana

6.99

Tones & Colours was written between 1974 and 1976 in New York and London, and reflects the concept of a tribute to primarily other poets (the first section, Earth & Blood ) and musicians (the second section, Tones & Colours). Thus the language of the poetry reflects the varying degrees of poetic/literary or musical influences that shape the context of the poetry.
Amon Saba Saakana was born in Trinidad and came to London in 1965. He has worked as a freelance writer since 1968 and has spent four years in New York (1970-1974).
His first volume of poetry, SUN SONG, was published by Paul Bresnan in 1974. He has been anthologised in Giant Talk, Breaklight, Other Voices, Other Places, New Poetry 6 and News for Babylon. In America his poetry has appeared in Black World, Journal of Black Poetry, The Black American, Black Theatre, Impressions, among others. He edited New Planet, an anthology of modern Caribbean writing, and is editor of Frontline journal.
